Great Thing About Meditating.

It can be done anywhere.

And I do it anywhere. At any given time. Yeah, kinda sounds like I could be talking about something else, but I’m not. Wait. What did you thinking I was talking about?!

I’m all for some meditation up in this hizzouse and have been known for plopping my big butt down wherever I am in nature or anywhere for that matter. Even the kitchen floor.

I don’t know what it is about that floor, but I’m drawn to it. Like a bee to honey, I tell you. Brother is always finding me with my back up against the counter meditating. Or eating. Or both. Can’t eating be a meditation? I don’t discriminate. I try to launch my mind into a long inhale “Sat” and a long exhale “Nam”.

It’s a sound and mantra we meditate on in Kundalini Yoga, which refers to the truth within ourselves. It helps bring our minds back to the present.

Next time you’re feeling rushed, stressed, frantic — you should try a quick meditation. Even five minutes makes a difference … just that simple act of slowing down our breath and minds.

You know, if we can master our breath, we can master our entire lives.

It sounds too good to be true, or even easy. It’s not. Controlling our breath would equal never being in anything but a calm, joyful state.

While I’m not quite there yet on mastering my breath, I am on my way. And hopefully, getting a little closer every day.
