Cemetery Road Park Picnic.

Last night was a summer {2012} first: a picnic.

At a gorgeous and serene park right near the ‘hood … that even features an ancient Indian Mound.

Yes, we all know I was done and done on this front.

While I forgot to snap some pics of the actual picnic — which ended up being shish kabobs, I did get these …

Is there anything better than a perfect summer evening, with the fam, soaking in some nature and good food?

It was another “at one” moment … where all was well. All was wonderful. Something about nature and super old mounds that will do that to you.

And what about this cemetery picture? I find a melancholy-ness in it … and not just because it’s a cemetery … it’s more … perhaps it’s the representation, the way the light hits and the curve of the road, reminding me that summer is coming to an end … and I always find that a bit bittersweet.

It’s that time … where the sun is beginning to set a little earlier each night and I can feel and see the changes that fall is quickly approaching.
