Be Happy.

I was walking the 5th arrondissement today, looking for the Rue Mouffetard. Translation: I was annoyed I couldn’t find the Rue ‘tard.

Which I started calling turd. Turd, tard. Close enough. It goes back to that patience thing this Bull seems to be lacking. At the height of my annoyance and TC’s exasperation, I turned a corner and was face to face with this much needed happy reminder.

The People. Those wonderful People of mine. At it, again. Showing up right when I need them to. As they always do. The Universe never fails.

TC and I both had a good laugh and quickly found the Rue ‘tard post happy. Interesting how when you let go and have that break of tension, what you’re looking for usually shows up a hell of a lot faster.

Happiness.

I believe this just might be one of life’s greatest mysteries. The ever elusive chase we’re on for the happy.

Sometimes I think we’re becoming a society of the quick fix happy. Recently I overhead a conversation some college students were having. One had been feeling down, wanting to feel good. The other replied that she just needed to go to the doctor and get a prescription for a “happy pill” {this is not to say there isn’t a place for medication, there absolutely is and there are legit reasons for it}.

If only this happy thing really were that simple. Actually, I kinda think it is, but that we just make it way more complicated than it needs to be.

Complicated because our true happy only comes from ourselves — and that can be hard and scary to face if we’re not used to going within.

Simple in that hey, maybe we can just decide to be happy.  Because there is not anything or anyone else that can bring or is responsible for our happiness — one of the things I still must remind myself. Isn’t that a beautiful thing?

To be able to tell the people we love that they’re off the hook! To be able to say, I love you so much and I want you to know — I will never hold you responsible for how I feel, despite what you or I might do. And I hope you do the same, that you work first on making sure you’re happy so that when we’re together, our happiness just explodes exponentially.

This can be quite the challenge. I think it’s human nature to want to blame or shrug things off onto another. It is courage to work on us, from the inside out.

And sure, it’s a lot easier for me to say, let’s just all go and be happy, while I’m high on Paris, but I’m going to go ahead and be annoying and say it anyway.

Let’s be happy! Let’s find any little thing to bring in the happy. Let’s focus on the positive. The only secret to this happiness thing is happiness itself.

I’m sure all of us can come up with a long list of reasons why we can’t or shouldn’t be happy. Who doesn’t have a sob story?

I just know I’d rather be happy than not. I’d rather love than hate. And I’d much rather believe than doubt.

Life is a reflection of What You Be. In that reflection, we are able to see what we’re putting out and getting back. Talk about instantaneous results! Change what you’re being, and you change what physically is manifesting, too.

Higher Self constantly asks me during the day, who do you wish to be right now, what part of you will you choose to give to others and I want that answer to be :  happy.
