Secret Garden.

In addition to not being blessed with culinary skillz, of any sort, this also seems to have translated into the same when it comes to the yard.

I wouldn’t exactly say I have a green thumb. The thing is, I love the outdoors! The flowers! The plants! All that good stuff. I’m all over it.

I just don’t want to have to do any of it. Or touch it. I’ll stick with smelling and admiring. It’s like you party planners out there and socialistas and those of you who also rock it out in the kitchen, while somehow finding time to do beautiful things to your yard … you leave me speechless.

Truly. No words for that. I figure this is yet another reason I have Brother in my life. He handles these sorts of things for me. He even knows about gutters. It’s nothing short of miraculous.

Since Spring hit, I’ve pretty much been floored every day I step foot in our backyard. It is straight up a Secret Garden out there! Feeling very blessed that our friends who previously lived here did crazy good yardwork and planting.

There’s rose bushes, wisteria, fig trees, peony bushes, purple passion flowers … basically, it’s an endless flower discovery for me. It’s become my new fave place. A safe haven of heavenly smells where I can just sit, listen to our fountain and forget the rest of the world.

It’s the perfect escape on days when I feel like I can’t handle doing anything. Ever have one of those days? Where you just don’t want to have to deal?

Those seem to happen a little too frequently. But it’s yoga and flowers that help me feel like I can handle whatever comes at me.
