Magical World.

Last night, after a late dinner that turned even later after kitchen duty, I was done.

Ready to call it an early night. Except something bright caught my eye, out one of the kitchen windows.

I turned, mystified, at the moon. This huge mass of bright blazing orange, slowly rising over the trees and lake.  Heart stop.

The BF had left to make a quick Pellston Airport stop, so I grabbed Brother and we sat, energized and wowed by this thing we call the moon.

It put on quite the show for us. Turning the lake into its own warm orange color.

I can’t really tell you why these sorts of sights comfort me, they just do. They remind me that there are so many beautiful things in this world that are also other-worldy.

In other news: we are a week out from the rehearsal dinner, which means, eight days from the GD wedding. This leaves me in a perpetual state of shock.

I’m glad everyone else is handling the majority of the details because we all know I’ll be rendered incapable of movement. But I must admit, I am thrilled to have our families up here joining us.

And should I start to feel stressed, all I’ll need to do is hit up some trails and yoga. A tried and true recipe to cure any emotional ailment.

Yesterday, we picked up some of the Douglas Lake trails. These hikes infuse me with such joy. Nothing but trail. My kind of afternoon. Hemingway would agree.
