Why, oh why, is it so cold the other day.

Till it hit me …

Winter is here. Not officially, but unofficially speaking, it is.

How I already long for some warmer weather days. Some beautiful leaves.

Something a little reminiscent of this:

I know winter will fly by, as all time seems to be doing lately. Actually, I’m just hoping it does and it will feel that way.

So I’m trying to enjoy it. Find all the positives I can about … freezing my ass off.

Thus far, the only things I can come up with seem to be food related.

Hot Chocolate {with mucho whipped cream, please}. Chestnuts roasting on an open fire … you get the idea.

I’m just not a fan of this cold weather stuff.

But. Last night as Brother and I were walking B down some alleys — for shortcut purposes — the lighting, the mood, the winteresque scene seemed to strike some unknowing chord of fondness within me.

Something about this site just made me want to keep going. Walk and walk and walk.

Perhaps it was that sodium lighting … casting shadows and feelings that made me feel at once remorsefully nostalgic and hopeful.
