I should be doing a much better job of documenting the great gems that come out of The Littles’ {or my M&M’s as I also refer to them} mouths.

Here are two of my favorites from this past weekend …

I walk in the door, and Littlest M looks up at me and says, Auntie, where is your baby?. I point at my stomach and tell him, baby is right here.

He shakes his head and laughs, you’re so silly Auntie! There’s no baby in there! I know where it is.

Of course I say the next logical thing, oh yeah and where is that?

In your boo boos! That’s where! Because that’s the biggest part of you!

Omfg. If I didn’t almost pee my pants with that one. All of us thought that was pretty damn good.

I get why the kid was confused. It’s confused plenty of adults. Baby FOH still hasn’t really made an appearance yet. Well, appearance is beginning and I can finally start to tell a difference but it makes sense as a small child to link a pregnancy/baby to a belly.

And I suppose he’s right — the boobage is bigger, or at least sticking out farther than my stomach, so it only makes sense that I’m growing a baby up there. Ha!

My other M showed her wisdom and old soul when we witnessed a rather unfortunate exchange at SkyZone between a parent and their child. It was one of those situations we’ve all witnessed where it’s really the adult that seems way more out of control than their kid.

Both of The Littles stood frozen, staring at the scene and I have to say, I was riveted too. It’s hard to look away from a train wreck. As I diverted their attention back to jumping, my niece shook her head and said, Auntie I wish people knew it’s never worth it to act like that. That is a very unhappy Mommy who took her sadness out on her little boy.

We had a great discussion from there about being responsible for our happiness and not placing our anger, sadness, or other emotions on the People we love.

They totally get it.
