Friday Night.

As these days continue to pass, I find it’s the ordinary moments — those full of simplicity — that fill me up.

Tonight, we took down our Christmas Tree. Something I’ve never particularly thought of as fun, nor looked forward to.

Yet. I quickly found myself caught up in FoH’s excitement that he was, a big tree taker downer.

I stood back and watched Le BF with FoH, the way they carefully worked together to hand me branches. The curious anticipation on FoH’s face and the way he lit up when he figured out how to do it all by himself.

John Denver playing on Pandora {Annie’s Song}. Murphy trying to eat every damn branch I was putting in the box. And People, it just felt perfect.

The absolute perfect Friday night. Right here. In my living room.

This I am certain of: extraordinary is the ordinary. We don’t need the big, fancy things. Just those we love along with us, wherever that may be.
