The one thing I love love love about Spring?

The blooms. The purples and reds and yellows and pinks and all the vibrancy of the colors.

My favorite? The red bud tree. We have three and it’s the tree I look forward to blooming above all others. The placement of this specific one, with the branches seeking their way around the column and onto our porch, brings me happiness.

Many a night I have sat on our church pew turned bench and breathed in the early spring air and stared at it. Marveled at how beautiful it is, seemingly almost other worldly.

Yet as much happiness that I find in it, I also feel a sense of loss looming ahead. All of our red buds were in bloom for approximately two weeks.

Spring blooms remains another perfect reminder : all things are cyclic. Nothing is permanent.
