SoulFull Saturday.

Connecting with my Inner Child while also trying to banish The Artistic Ghosts Of Childhood Past at a painting party with FoH.

Our incredibly gifted hostess got my heart rate going from the start when she announced that, I picked something to paint that everyone could feel successful doing.

Read: This is so f-ing stupid simple easy, even a three-year-old {ahem — FoH} can do it.

No pressure or anything.

FoH lasted approximately six minutes before ditching The Canvas and hitting the air hockey and trampoline.

Maman and I, vino in hand, did our best to create our birch trees with sunset paintings.

Mine looks like a volcano exploded while you instantly feel warmth wash over you looking at Maman’s. It’s Hawaiian-esque.

The thing here is this, People: I did something I did not want to do, that I certainly did not feel confident attempting.

I faced, as silly as it sounds, deep wounds of creative inadequacy.

For that, I am proud of myself and I’ll be damned if it’s not half bad, after all.

We are always are own harshest — and worst — critic.
