Red, White + Blue.

Thankfully, Glam has been here.

That means she remembers to do all the things that I don’t.

Such as: checking my kid’s backpack for his folder. The Folder — it’s like the pre-school equivalent of The Holy Grail.

I can’t tell you how many times the importance of, checking your child’s folder daily, was reiterated.

Enough for me to forget. Right, so there’s that going for me, People. In my defense: I feel like I have only about 70 million things a day to check.

Most of these 70 mill are during my own school day. And ain’t no one more hyper organized than me. Yes, I just used ain’t.

Deal.

So I forgot enough times that two handwritten notes were sent home to me, one email and then a text.

It was pretty embarrassing. I mean surely, any good mother would remember to check her kid’s folder — the kid who only goes to school TWO damn days out of the week.

How hard could that be?

Turns out pretty darn hard.

This is why we have Glam. To folder check. Thursday night she informed me that the note included a few lines about celebrating Veterans Day and that children that day should be dressed in red, white and blue.

My first remark was: Red? And White? And Blue? As in ALL of them? Together? Like all of them on the same shirt?

This was obviously very distressing for me. I don’t have anything red white and  blue sitting in FoH’s closet. Who does? Apparently mothers who on their shit and do things like buy their kids fourth of July day flag tshirts.

I didn’t know what the heck I was going to do. To not dress him would send the message that I didn’t check his folder. To dress him partriotically in such a haphazard manner would be a crime unto itself.

Until.

I remembered. Paris Saint-Germain.

Glam just brought him back an awesome Paris Saint-Germain soccer jersey from Paris. Boom! Red, white, and blue. Done.

Hey, there was no mention of country specific colors. France is our ally, afterall.
