Yoga, Outside.

All these years — I say that like it’s been decades or something — when it’s been about five, I’ve been getting my yoga on and not once had I tried getting it on … outside.

Till today.

And oh my goodness … can I tell you just how incredible it was? Good. Because I’m going to tell you either way. It was incredible. Absolutely other worldly.

I had previously heard, in my yoga studies, that there is something that happens when you yoga outside. It’s in the way our body connects to the fresh air and grounding element of the earth and the internal resonance that’s created with and through the kriyas {poses}.

My senses were heightened. Everything was very crisp and clear. I heard sounds I had never heard before.

At one point, I found myself wondering, if water flowing through a creek bed has always sounded so melodic, so full of harmony, a song in its own right.

I feel like I’ve continued to reverberate all day to this flow of energy that outside yoga opened up for me. Things just looked different to me all afternoon, they still do. I found myself walking B, completely mesmerized, by sights and houses and flowers and streets and buildings I’ve looked at thousands of times, yet it was today that I felt as though I was truly seeing them.

I want to keep this new “sight” and “sound” … to allow myself to see anew everyday. And finding in that, the miracle of being right here, right now.
