Where Passion Comes To Play.

So I had yet to hear the world renowned pianist, who is more famous than The Beetles and has a Steinway series named after him — Lang Lang.

I wondered what all the hype was about. I’m not a classical connoisseur like TC and some of these other die hard symphonic peeps, who sigh at the right sighing moments and can discuss the subtle differences between Tchaikovsky and Weinberg.

Last night the CSO started off with Tchaikovsky’s Pathethique {pathetic} — I know, such a happy name. It was his last symphony he wrote and performed, nine days prior to his death. Aunt J told me it’s her all time favorite, and it was that little tidbit of info, that kept me awake at the beginning.

I always tend to pay attention better when I know it’s something someone close to me appreciates and speaks to them. Speaking of Aunt J, here we are. Doesn’t she just so pull of the Zebra stripes? I felt quite proud of that fashion choice. Isn’t she just the cutest? Ever.

It was pretty awesome, and was said to represent making peace with life and battling those dark … um, battles,  at the same time. Although, I feel like this theme can be said about all the classical music out there.

The night ended with Lang Lang, which I finally understood, what all the talk is surrounding him.

I watched, as his hands flawless and effortlessly flew over those keys, as though he wasn’t even touching them. I saw that expression of love on his face, and of being transported.

I think it’s safe to say that almost everyone there could feel his energy and presence and his passion for what he’s doing. I’m officially a fan.

Afterwards, Lang Lang was signing cds. Being the groupie he is, and noticing the short line {which soon became a total mob scene}, TC couldn’t resist. He had to meet him. I was there to capture the moment. What would I do without my iphone?

And here Maman and I are. You can’t really tell in this picture, but she was rocking this super sexxxxxy yet classy black dress … I mean, check out those side cutouts!

I love this chandelier. TC and I wondered, given an emergency, what the chances were that I could jump from the railing {where I stood taking this picture} and land on the chandelier.

We also considered the probability of how long I could hang on, or how long it would take for me to bring the whole thing down. We like to make sure we’ve considered all aspects in case of any extreme predicament{s}.

It was an evening where the symphony most definitely lived up to and served as the photo child of passion coming to play. Love that saying.
