Stopped by to see my guru today, while walking B.
When the obligatory, “here, have a piece of candy” came up, I politely declined. Only to be met with a stern look, followed by:
“Have a damn piece of candy. Life is short. Besides, you walk too much. You need it.”
Done. Magic words were said. Don’t mind if I do. It was the really good kind, too. Those Lindt Truffles. The Milk Chocolate ones. Yeah, sooo good.
I mean, who the heck was I – me! – to decline candy? Why deprive myself like that when I came back for the candy?
I’m trying to get better about this … about feeling that it’s okay to have a piece, and not succumb to downing an entire bag. Guru’s right. Life is short.
I can’t be, we can’t be, missing out on any of this sweet goodness.
