Washington Monument.

Maman and I capped off a wonderful wedding last night with a quick drive in to The District. I snapped this at a stoplight. I’m telling you, takes my breath away.

As does the Lincoln Memorial, The Capitol … especially at night, there is something so magical and hopeful about them.

We also caught literally the last final hour of The Hirshorn’s incredible exhibit – Song 1.

It was nothing short of another one of those moments in time that suddenly slows down, and you know, you are just where you are meant to be in this huge, limitless Universe, that you will always, always remember this moment.

I stopped. I stared. Awe struck. Inspired. I could smell the crispness of the rain in the air. I could hear the calm silence, could feel the wonder of everyone around me.

We all stood together, somehow, united. Hearing those echoing, haunting words. That I won’t be able to get out of my head, nor the sight of those images circulating their way around the Hirshorn.

I only have eyes for you.

Breathtaking. Truly, breathtaking.
