Carpe Diem.

One of my favorite things to do in the car, as I drive along, is ask The Universe questions. I try to be as specific as possible and then as specific as possible in giving me an answer. I’m a Taurus — we tend to need clear, concrete proof of things. I was feeling a bit … well, blah.

Let’s face it: it’s hard to come back from a few weeks abroad and then a stint in the breathtaking North Woods with all nature has to offer. The Universe sent me exactly what I needed — Carpe Diem (I find it rather humorous that Carpe Diem is almost overshadowed by the random crap in the back of the truck — a true metaphor for me). I took that as, snap out of it and enjoy your day! Stop the blahness.

It worked.

One of the great things about being in France was just how inspiring it was … each day, each moment, each and every single thing I took in and saw, I was so very appreciative of, very aware of the beauty and wonder of life that traveling opens up and reminds you of. Sometimes it’s difficult to take that attitude with us as we move along, day to day, hour to hour, moment to moment.

It’s easy on vacation to have fun, relax, let go and let be. Why is it that we often times reserve those for vacay and not each day?

This thought continuously returned to me throughout my vacations. One of my favorite moments in France was driving along the D47, stunned by the awesome site of a crumbling chateau in the distance. My natural instincts to discover and explore were so awakened by that sight and many similar ones. I think that’s what was so rejuvenating for me … steadily being in that space of excitement and wonder.

While I still have the motivation, I’m going to go Carpe my yoga and hope that you Carpe your own something … or someone …
