Petoskey Antiques & Forest Hikes.

Petoskey. What a great {little} city, right along Lake Michigan. So charming. So natural.

I just about lost it when Aunt J told me this weekend is the big Petoskey Antiques Fair. Done and done.

Brother and The BF didn’t have a choice in the matter, but it worked out … I quickly spun them into my golden web of antique love. They couldn’t help but fall under the spell.

It was about seventy shades of love at first sight … I’m sure I could have dropped thousands within minutes. It’s probably a good thing the main deterrence was transportation.  I couldn’t think of any logical way to get all these lovelies home with me.

Here are a couple highlights:

I really liked One Eyed Willie … but again, how would I have gotten him home … and then where to put him? I thought he might look cool in the foyer … you know, to give any people who walk in with negative energy the evil eye. And as for this old carnival game wheel … ahhh … so fun. So freaking fun.

The later part of our afternoon … after a brief nap {antiques = recovery} … the trails.

The glorious Douglas Lake Trails. How I could and do spend hours on them. How I can’t get enough of them. Or maybe it’s just that whole being out and amongst in nature that gets me going. With no one around for miles. Listening to the sounds of the birds and the wind through the Aspen trees.

I really couldn’t get enough of the Birch {and Aspen} trees, the fresh air … the way the sunlight hits the trees, streaming through. And planking. Yes, planking. A weak attempt on my part … my legs aren’t exactly straight.

That handsome devil above, making his What You Be début, is Murphy.

That would be The BF’s dog, which also makes him mine. He’s a lover. And yes, he and B have quite a thing for each other. It’s a match made in canine/people heaven.

I’m looking forward to more hours on these trails, more hikes, more just … being …
