Moonight & Bonfires.

Aren’t bonfires great? With smores … when smores are present, you know it’s just going to be goodness, straight goodness.

It was an ideal night of lakeside bonfiring. Waiting and watching as the moon rose over the lake … as we sat, family and friends and soon to be family, sharing and talking and laughing.

I was so thankful … overwhelmed, per usual, with thankfulness and for this full heart of mine that each time feels bursting with fullness, seems to become even fuller. Amazing how that happens, isn’t it?

Brother and I stayed up the latest. On the end of the dock, two chairs, just for us. Caught in the hypnotic moonlight dancing on the water. Listening to the loons calling out to one another. Their coded language of high pitched sounds.

Everything felt possible and real to me … especially all those big things that sometimes don’t feel possible, but they are … they, too, are a reality.

I drifted off to sleep in that chair. Being lulled by a soft breeze, crickets and the gentle sound of water washing upon the lakeshore. When I awoke and looked up, I caught, despite it being a cloudy night, a shooting star.

A shooting star on an overcast sky. I leave you with that.
