I might.

Enjoy cool, crisp, overcast weather.

But.

It is an entirely different thing when you add cold into the mix.

Not my thing. At all. Especially when it’s only the beginning of October! What’s up with that?

I feel like I’ve been in hibernation, stocking up mode all day. The only thing I feel like doing is staying in bed, under layers of warm covers and eating {stocking}.

And then eating some more.

Nothing healthy sounds good to me. In fact, I’m still craving some waffles with real maple syrup. Beware, the next time you consume syrup, of any kind. I just happen to lean towards maple, but anyway, there’s usually a ton of crap in syrups.

I’m going to force myself to work out here in the not too distant future. You know, get the energy moving.

Since right now, I’m feeling somewhat like this fine headless fellow:

That would be Saint John, the Baptist. And no, I had no clue who the hell it was.

Maman didn’t either. Obviously, I get a lack of historical fact retention from her side of the family.

I did what I always do when there’s anything historically/politically in question — ask my father. Isn’t that what Dad’s are for?

Per usual, I was left feeling extremely uneducated when I said I didn’t know Saint John had met his unfortunate end by getting the ax. What a way to go.

And just between us — I really don’t know all that much about Saint John.

Saint, yes. Good deeds, yes. Holding his own head at Notre Dame de Reims, yes. Now … what else? Anyone?

I also learned something else new, when my dad asked who the church was dedicated to.

Ummmmm … churches are dedicated to people?

It’s a church. Aren’t they by the people, for the people?

Oh, wait. That’s the Constitution.

Same difference.

Still. I don’t get a church dedication … isn’t the whole point to be a place of worship and connection and repenting of sins so we don’t burn in hell during the after life? Why the heck would they be dedicated to someone?

For the record: Notre Dame de Reims is dedicated to The Virgin Mary.

What do you have to say about that? Probably nothing like me.

Who wants to question the Blessed Almighty Mother?
