Somewhere Over The Rainbow.

We were on our way home from Mackinac, taking old route 31, when we took a wrong turn.

The skies had turned dark, with just a hint of light peeking through, as the rain came down. I said, “I bet there’s a rainbow somewhere.”

I looked in every direction. No rainbow. So I asked The People. I wanted a rainbow. A sign. And I wanted it to be very big and very grand, so I knew … knew it was meant for me, that all the pointless things I was worrying about were just that … pointless.

As Brother turned down a country road, we were all struck with the astounding sight of a double rainbow.

Double the rainbow, double the goodness … right?

I literally could hardly believe it! I shouted for Brother to stop the car and despite it still raining, jumped out.

Ecstatic.

Jumping up and down. Feeling like my four year old self in a pink Osh Kosh jumper with my Birthday crown on my head.

Confirmation. Just what I needed. That when I ask … it is given. The People are always with me, with all of us.

I can’t think of a more suitable, beautiful, life affirming sight than a rainbow … it’s proof positive to me that life is magic and that this magic abounds.
