The other week these pigeons showed up at this exact spot on the pergola. I thought it was a one time thing. Until they returned the next day.

They have now become a steady fixture, which I’m beginning to think will soon become permanent.

There’s something reassuring to me about them; comforting. Maybe it’s that they always travel together, pecking and playing around, never leaving one another side.

Or maybe it’s that they feel like messengers to me … telling me to relax and slow down. Not worry. Be more like them, dancing freely and uninhibitedly across those wood beams.
