Song Of Summer.

Everyone has to have their obligatory SOS.

It’s simply just not summer without one.

And with these final and fleeting days of summer remaining, I’ve been trying to savor those things which represent what this summer has been for me.

In which case, I leave you with Colplay.

Every Tear Drop Is A Waterfall.

My SOS.

That brings me back to hot days poolside and long, late night walks with B.

Ice cream and Perrier.

The smell of sunscreen. Driving with the windows down, AC on.

I turn the music up, I got my records on. I shut the world outside till the lights come on.

And I am back. I am on the D74. I feel the wind blowing my air, the base in the speakers pulsating. I smell France. I am instantly there.

Transported, once again.

Each lyric, each stanza takes to a different place, another memory, or the thought of what it might come to mean in the future.

Kettlebell swings at Douglas Lake. Dinners outside.

Just taking a moment to be.

Since.

Every siren is a symphony and every tear is a waterfall.
