World Water Day.

Not like I’m an activist of any sort. Though I’d like to be. But given that I spend most of my days in bed for as long as possible lately {ahem, growing a human IS A LOT OF WORK, PEOPLE}, I don’t see me exactly globe trotting any time soon in the name of international change.

However, that doesn’t mean I don’t think we’re all world changers, because we are. I’m just saying — you don’t have to get a thousand and two shots and hop a plane to Africa to be one.

There can be the silent activist types, too! Also. Not like I know anything about how to change these big life situations out there, such as our desperate need for clean drinking water for everyone, but I believe there are a lot of really smarty, amazing People out there on it and maybe if all we did was just recognize what’s happening and say a silent prayer, that, too, would help.

It’s a pretty daunting thing. Because it’s utterly unimaginable for me to even conceive of life without being able to grab a glass of water — water that’s safe for me to drink.

It seems to me a basic human right that we should all have.

We can start small, with a little awareness here and there and maybe some donations for wells or whatever and then talk about that plane ride to Africa.

Think of how lucky you are today as you drink your water. That’s what I’ve been doing.
