Day 3 : Roma.

Our day started out early with our visit to The Vatican … my second time there and the same things struck me with equal fascination and inquiry:

  1. The Pine Cone.
  2. The Map Hall.
  3. That ceiling!

Truly. Michelangelo that BA renaissance man that he was. I felt more than a little BA myself as I snuck this shot of his pure brilliance and mastery.

Given my good condition, do not take me lightly when I say this is not for the faint of heart. Although, I must say it’s not so much physically challenging as it is mentally — given the narrow confines of the space itself.

If you are claustrophobic, by all means, avoid it like the plague. If you’re completely insane like me and love a good physical and mental challenge, go for it.

The remainder of the day : spent eating way too much food — which is easy to do when you have an authentic Italiano by your side who makes sure to let you know, how good this is for you to eat, at all meals and appointed gelateria times.

Rest assured, People. When in Rome … I do know how to relax and enjoy myself. I’m looking at these ten days of well deserved and well earned in terms of culinary experiences … as well as all other experiences.

The Piazza Navonna lived up to its city hype and I fell in love all over again in seven different churches. Lighting seven different candles.

I’m telling ya, feeling holier by the candle, People. And full of promise … of all that is good and beautiful and bright in this great big world of ours.
